Mike Stabile, a veteran journalist and documentary filmmaker, has spent over a decade advocating for sex workers and the rights associated with sexual freedom. His writing has been widely published in The Daily Beast, Salon, Buzzfeed, Playboy, and The New York Times. Stabile’s documentary Seed Money, which highlights the life of pornographer and philanthropist Chuck Holmes, was named one of The Advocate’s Best Documentaries of 2015.
Beyond journalism, Stabile founded Polari Media to assist marginalized communities and nontraditional businesses in effectively engaging with mainstream audiences.
Since 2013, he has managed communications for the Free Speech Coalition, a prominent organization defending the rights of adult industry professionals. With over 30 years of experience, FSC has led efforts to challenge stigma, misinformation, and discriminatory policies, securing victories in court and the public sphere. The coalition continues to demonstrate that a unified industry is a stronger industry.
